Joint pain and stiffness are common in winter. Sesame seeds have anti-inflammatory properties , lubricate joints, and strengthen bones, making them especially beneficial for the elderly.

“This harvest festival reminds us to welcome warmth, happiness, and prosperity into our lives, just like the rising sun”.
Common Mistakes to Avoid While Making Sesame Laddus
Roast sesame seeds darker
If sesame seeds are roasted on too high a flame or for too long, they become bitter , which can spoil the taste of the laddu. Always roast sesame seeds on a medium flame until they turn light golden .
Cook the jaggery till the hard stage
Overcooking jaggery hardens it , which makes it difficult to bind the laddus. Cook the jaggery only until it melts ; avoid boiling or making sugar syrup.
Making Laddu from Thande Mixture
If the mixture cools down, it may crack or crumble while forming the laddus . Always make laddus with a slightly warm mixture so they set properly.
Too much ghee and lentils
Adding too much ghee can make the laddus too oily and lose their shape. Use only as much ghee as is necessary for binding and flavor .
“Makar Sankranti brings back childhood memories filled with laughter, homemade sweets, and festive joy”.
